HONOLULU — A sailor from Colombia has been rescued after spending two months in the Pacific Ocean, where he survived by eating gulls and fish.

According to the Guardian, four sailors left Colombia more than two months ago on a 23-foot-long skiff skiff. At some point, their skiff's engine failed and the men were left adrift. They survived for a time by eating seagulls and fish.

Three of the sailors died during the two-month ordeal. The one man left, who has yet to be identified, kept all three of his companions' passports.

The 29-year-old survivor was spotted more than 2,000 miles southeast of Hawaii on April 26 by a Panama-flagged bulk carrier, which then promptly rescued the sailor. The sailor was later transferred onto a U.S. Coast Guard vessel.

The survivor landed in Honolulu on Wednesday morning in "good condition" and has been handed over to the Colombian consulate, reported NBC News.
